What is the Palm Springs School for Social Research?

A New Space for Critical Thought and Social Inquiry

The Palm Springs School for Social Research (PSSSR) is a new educational initiative devoted to revitalizing critical theory and promoting historical consciousness. Intellectual life and work should not be limited to those who have access to elite institutions and the credentials they offer. Everyone lives with alienation and coercion: we all experience powerlessness. Against a culture industry dominated by decayed ideological dogma, we aim to normalize collective thinking grounded in reason – not lies, clichés, and ideological domination.

We will achieve this through yearly conferences, retreats, semi-regular salons, and fellowship programs. Each is an opportunity to carve out space for conversations that are too often censored or suppressed within traditional media and academic institutions.

Together, we can help equip ourselves to confront the injuries of a bleak political future and increasingly illogical cultural climate.
