Building a New Political Subject
In December 2026, we will hold our inaugural PSSSR Retreat at the Campbell House Inn in Twentynine Palms, just outside Joshua Tree National Park in California.
We emphasise in-person and pro-social events with the aim to build a community, focusing on a Salon approach of intimate intellectual discussions. These events are primarily facilitated by our founder and director, Catherine Liu, as host, main speaker, or discussant.
In a time of political turmoil and social confusion, mainstream institutions have become increasingly hostile to intellectual life. Contemporary liberalism itself has become an obstacle to the full flourishing of societies and subjects. In this strained cultural climate, the PSSSR advances a form of creative theoretical engagement with the current moment that is lacking in traditional institutions of any political orientation.
