PSSSR's publications and programs exist to nurture serious intellectual work beyond the academy — funding emerging writers, supporting independent scholars, and publishing critical theory for general audiences.
Honoring work outside the Institutions
The PSSSR Awards platform figures whose polemical or unorthodox work has achieved real cultural influence, work that has largely outpaced the gatekeeping mechanisms of traditional institutions and media.
The Emerging Writers Fund provides direct financial support to writers working on book-length projects in critical theory, social research, and adjacent fields. Awards are open to applicants without institutional affiliation.
PSSSR Fellows spend a year in residence working on an independent research project with access to our seminars, working groups, and peer network. Fellows receive a stipend and are expected to contribute one public lecture.
