Our Launch Conference: What is the Social of Socialism?
Frankfurt, June 2026
In June 2026, the Palm Springs School for Social Research launched with a two-day conference asking: "What is the Social of Socialism?" featuring papers by Vivek Chibber, Roger Lancaster, Lee Jones, Catherine Liu, George Hoare, and Tara Heffernan.
The PSSSR facilitated a pro-social environment. Each session offered ample time for questions and discussion, and with lunch, snacks, and refreshments provided at the venue, conversation spilled over session brackets and flowed throughout the event. Nearly 100 guests joined us, in person and online, for what turned out to be a genuinely social and celebratory two days. In the best possible way, we were able to embody the very question we were asking of the conference.
